Three journey maps

The trainee, the SME who trains them, and the leader who sends them. Mapped end to end.

Journey one

From “why me?” to “I carry this now.”

The trainee is a senior leader flown in from across the world. Every step is designed so the experience they receive models the experience we ask them to give a guest. Read each column top to bottom: what they feel, do, and ask, where it can go wrong, and the move that makes it land.

The emotional archigh care in, high expectation out

The moments that must not be ordinary

The nomination

A place is argued for, not assigned. Even a property with one obvious candidate must clear a real bar, so the seat feels won.

The sense of arrival

Weary from travel, the trainee should feel their journey is over and they are in safe hands, from the steps of the facility to the lobby.

The hyper-personal touch

What we learned pre-arrival, honoured on site. If they told us they love Indian food, it is waiting. Treated exactly as a guest would be.

The LinkedIn moment

A named alumni identity and a certificate worth posting. Pride for them, and a signal to owners and future talent that Aman invests.

Journey two

From “another corporate ask” to “this is mine, and it works.”

The facilitator is the subject-matter expert who builds and delivers a discipline's five days — F&B, housekeeping, front office or spa. Their world is content and craft, not who fills the room: who attends is the HOD/GM's call. This is the heavy lift, so the whole journey is built to remove effort — their expertise in, our build out, light stage-gates that keep it off the last three days.

The confidence arcapprehension to ownership to pride

What earns the facilitator's trust

Directional, not blank

Four ready themes with worked shapes behind each. Real choice inside guardrails — “choose as long as it's black.” No blank page to fear.

Your inputs, our build

They hand over SOPs and best-property content. We turn it into ready-to-run session plans and a train-the-trainer kit. No chip in their brain required.

The school-teacher cadence

Short committee catch-ups at set intervals. We keep the pace so nothing gets crammed into the final three days of October.

The Host hosts, the expert delivers

The academy head welcomes and steps aside. One person can never own every discipline, and is never asked to.

Journey three

From “can I spare them?” to “look what they brought back.”

The HOD or GM owns the operation and the people, not the curriculum. They decide who earns a seat, release them from the floor, and hold them to account on return. The academy only pays off if this leader champions it — so every step is built to make backing it the easy, obvious call.

The conviction arcscepticism to buy-in to pride

What makes an HOD back it

A value case that wins the seat

The return to their own function, the prestige, and the accountability that comes with it. Framed as a prize to win, never a levy on their roster.

A calendar that respects their peak

The year is built around each property's blackout periods, so an HOD is never asked to release a leader at their busiest.

The seat is earned

Prestige framing so their best people compete for it, and the wrong person is never sent by default just because they can be spared.

Accountability they own

KPIs agreed up front, so the HOD can show the owners a return and prove the academy property by property.
